class:
Learn
how to make beautiful hand carved tiles form scratch.
The old fashioned way.
Part
1: At the
star
t of class you will begin
by rolling out a slab of clay, as in “Basic
Hand-made Decorative Tile Class”. Sculpt
clay with various tools to make designs and/or press natural objects into
the clay. Have your design sketched out and ready before class.
Tiles are dried slowly and “Bisc” fired by

Part
2: We paint
“Mason stains” and oxides into the tiles, penetrating the recessed
areas of the carved designs. Then we dip tiles in clear glaze.
The
tiles are fired again.
Two
Saturdays, ONE MONTH apart: September
18th and October
23rd
Part 1:
Saturday, September 18th,
10:30am-1:30pm
Part 2:
Saturday, October 23,
10:30am-1pm
Tiles ready for pick-up
after October 28th
No painting experience necessary.

“Basic
Hand-made Decorative Tile Class” or other class using hand rolled clay
